QUIKSILVER PRO FRANCE 2016…

…the excitement is slowly beginning to set in 🙂

There’s barely a week left until the surf pros start pouring in to our home-spots in Hossegor and Seignosse.

On October 4th, the 9th stop of the WSL Tour 2016 in Hossegor will officially kick off. The more-than-suspenseful contest in Trestles, California mixed up the rankings quite a bit, so that we now have some unexpected contenders in the race for the world title. Matti Wilkinson, who in the past made waves with his crazy/funny wetsuit outfits, wasn’t so lucky with the real waves this time and lost his yellow lycra to JohnJohn Florence. The reigning Hossegor champion – Gabriel Medina – is 3rd, and the “greatest surfer of all time” and our personal secret hero, Kelly Slater, really climbed the ranks. After an unusually rocky season start, he has managed to fight his way to 5th place with a win in Teahupo’o, Tahiti and various other passable performances. We’re also rooting for all the Frenchmen and Frenchwomen competing!!!

It goes without saying, that we’re especially excited to see the Girls, who are currently duking it out in Cascais, Portugal, shred it up over here as well. Last year’s Hossegor champion Tyler Wright has already won 4 contests and is currently at the top of the Jeep Leader’s Ranking with 53.000 points. Courtney Conlogue is the only one left in a position to take the yellow shirt from her, and that only if she wins Hossegor.

The MSW Wave-Forecast for next week does indeed look very promising, and so, as every year, we are so happy to be able to attend this amazing event that takes place right in front of our doorstep. Life at the Surfvilla will once again be all about the contest: from breakfast to sunset we will be living and breathing the Quiksilver Pro – never missing a heat (if we can’t be there in person we’ll be watching the livestream), cheering, taking photos, passing our days in the front row on the beach, and spending the nights celebrating our favorites – and anyone else who caught our eye – while partying in Hossegor. Is there a better way to close out this amazing summer of 2016? We think not.

So, see you here?!?
